Charles Darwin House is the home of five charitable societies active in the Biosciences (The Biochemical Society, Society of BiologyBritish Ecological Society, Society of Experimental Biology and the Society for General Microbiology) and a London hub for the subject.  As well it houses a newly built conference centre which boasts a state of the art lecture theatre seating up to 130, a collection of smaller meeting rooms and breakout areas with space for trade exhibitions and poster display. Charles Darwin House is easily accessible by public transport making it an ideal location to host UK-based and international events.  The building has also been awarded BREEAM Excellence Award for 'The Code for Sustainable Buildings' in 2010.
